Just as all the southern speedways are closing down for the winter, our season begins.
We are off to a great start for 2023, especially when you consider that virtually every car had been rebuilt over the off-season, and with both practice sessions being cancelled by the weather bureau, many of the cars/drivers had not turned a wheel prior to the green flag dropping!
Good to see some fun and games in the Junior Sedan category, but it fell to the F400s to open the track for the new season. Lots of things went wrong mechanically, as was to be expected - one driver who broke down said they had been trying to figure out what was wrong with their car, and decided to race it until the offending part broke. He found out...
Sprintcars as usual turned on a good show, as did the Modified Sedans and the Super Street Sedans. Lots of "rubbin' is racin'" going on in a few of the heats, and it all made for a great show. See if we can top it next meeting!
