Cairns Dolphins & Marlins v Ipswich 12 July 2024

The Dolphins game started out with a retirement presentation to Myra and Amy, two stalwarts of the Club but have decided that it's time to hang up the sneakers. Myra finished her career with 15 points 3 rebounds and 5 assists, while Amy made the most of her accurate passing to put up 12 assists. With the large number of young players on the Dolphins team, they are leaving a great legacy. Mia chipped in with 30 points and 13 rebounds, 7 assists and a steal; Teyahna added 16 points and LJ 15. There was no stopping Ipswich, though. Full credit to Kahlaijah Dean who played the entire 40 minutes and scored 32 points and 9 rebounds for the 5 point win.

The Marlins had a slight chance of making it into the post-season, and desperately needed a win in their final season home game. They got the win 95-87, but are 8th on the ladder. Kody topped the scoring with 27 points, while one of the standout performances came from Aron Farmer, who scored zero points - but more than made up for that with 12 rebounds and 5 assists! Alex came off the bench to score 22 points and Curt knocked down 4 of 7 3-pointers for his 12 points.
