Cairns Dolphins & Marlins v SWM Pirates 21/06/24
21/6/24Another 50 / 50 split - the Marlins got it done against the Pirates Men, but the short-handed Dolphins fell by the smallest of margins to the Pirates Women.
The Dolphins were well into a 16-point-deep hole coming into the 4th, but fought back strongly to fall short by only 4 points. Samantha put up a double-double with 18 points and 18 rebounds in what was overall a low-scoring game (67 - 71). Amy added 16 points and five assists; Taryn 15 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals; and LJ 10 points.
The Marlins helped Curt celebrate 300 NBL1 games in style (we may have to retire his number again!) - Kody leading the charge with 43 points, Ky also had 16 points, five rebounds and five assists; Kian 13 points, five rebounds and two steals; Jaylen 12 points, two rebounds and two assists; and Josh 11 points, 11 boards and five assists. The win helps keep the Marlins playoff chances alive.
