Cairns Dolphins & Marlins v NGC Seahawks 20/4/24

Welcome back to the newly reconfigured Fish Tank! Still more work to be done, and it was a madhouse getting it ready for our first home game - but getting there.

Dolphins are still awaiting two imports, and had a couple of injured players, but part of the theme for this season (both Dolphins and Marlins) will be to bring on some of our local juniors. As an example of this, four of our Dolphins have just returned from playing in the U18 Nationals! Unfortunately, the Seahawks were able to make it look a bit lopsided and the Dolphins are now at 0-2 for the season.

Then the Marlins came out, and the air was filled with falling 3-pointers, much to the delight of the crowd. Threes were raining from everywhere, to the point that at the end of the game the Marlins percentage was over 50%. Keep doing that, and you hold the lead for most of the game, not coounting the first couple of minutes when, as usual, both teams were getting into the swing of things and a single bucket could change the lead. Marlins are now 2-0, with Townsville up next weekend then the Salties back at home the week after.
